Step by Step: Picking and Preserving Peppers

We grow peppers each year: ghost pepper, habanero, chilies, jalapeños. With too many to use immediately, after each harvest, in the freezer they go.
Step 1: Prep the peppers before you freeze them.
Step 2: Take off stems, wash, cut off tops.
Step 3: Cut in half to make sure there are no bugs or rotten seeds.
Step 4: Freeze in Freezer Ziplock bags, making sure to squeeze out all the air. Or vacuum seal.
Step 5: When ready to use, don't thaw your peppers! They get gooey.
Step 6: Use as you please!
Whoops, did you thaw your peppers before you used them? Learn how to fix them here.
